Can we cure Alzheimer’s?

You might be intrigued by an invited paper this week in Alzheimer’s & Dementia, which the editors feel “will change the field”. The paper explains how Alzheimer’s works, why prior trials failed, and offers a novel point of intervention. The paper has already generated more than 100 reprint requests prior to publication. The link to the paper will not be active until publication, but will be:

Fossel M. A Unified Model of Dementias and Age-Related Neurodegeneration. Alzheimer’s & Dementia: The Journal of the Alzheimer’s Association. January 2020.

The paper is long (17k words, 269 references) even before the editors requested that I write an appendix, describing the dialogue with the reviewers. If you’d like a copy, please ask.

I hope you find the article intriguing.

Congratulations Dr Fossel, this seems amazingly positive!
You’ve been busy, it seems. I’m assuming the novel point of intervention will be telomerase induction, but am eager to learn more.
I would love a copy, please.

Congratulations!
Truly monumental task! Perhaps not as arduous as defeating Alzheimer will prove to be!
One would hope

Keep going Michael, I believe you are on the right track. I am hoping the AD Human Trial goes as expected with significant disease reversal. And you are spot on, Compassion is the reason to persist.
Kind Regards,
Stephen Rodwell (BSc, GradDipCompSci)
